Job Description: Apprentice – Highway Surfacing Operative's
Do you like working outdoors? Enjoy working as part of a team? Want the opportunity to gain an apprenticeship, develop skills and qualifications in a role with the opportunity to increase earnings in paid overtime?

We are looking to develop the skills of our next group of highway surfacing operatives with people who are willing to learn and develop themselves joining a 2 year programme, involving 1 day per week with our training partner at Bromley Collage and 4 days per week in our teams gaining valuable practical experience.

What you will gain

Key Responsibilities:

Work independently using your own initiative

Maintain a safe working environment

Undertake principles of highway maintenance and highway surfacing

Safely locate underground services

Ensure that work is completed to a high standard within a reasonable time scale

Communicate with the foreman and supervisors as and when required

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Full driving license would be an advantage, but not mandatory.

Skilled Surfacing Operative’s

We are currently looking for skilled surfacing operative to join our friendly team based out of Chatham Kent. Here at Trinity Surfacing, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility
As a Skilled Surfacing Operative you will have worked in a similar industry and will have experience of working on road surface contracts using aggregates and asphalt plant equipment and materials. Other responsibilities for this role will include:

Reporting directly to the gang Foreman and Supervisor
Driving/operating various machinery associated with road surfacing
Adhering to on-site Health and Safety policies and procedures and encouraging others to as well
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience of working within a similar working environment. They will:

Have ideally obtained a CSCS card
Have experience in asphalts and road laying
Have experience and certificates for operating road surfacing machinery/equipment
Ideally be experienced in project work – ideally on motorways
Be able to work independently but also as part of a team
Be motivated
Hold a valid UK driving licence

Surfacing Supervisor

Location: South East

Salary: Negotiable

Job Description: We are currently seeking to employ a Surfacing Supervisor predominantly based at our Chatham Kent office but will involve working in other geographic locations within the business.

The successful candidates will ideally have road surfacing and supervisory experience on highway works but construction industry experience will be considered. They would be responsible for the day to day planning, coordinating and supervision of surfacing crews to ensure contracts are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

SSSTS or SSMST, CSCS card and driving licence would be essential, additional Construction Industry training could be given to the right candidate.

You will display a pro-active attitude and understanding to Health & Safety, making suggestions to reduce or remove any identified risks; create and deliver the content of daily briefings, toolbox talks and any site-specific induction prior to commencing work on site. The ability to communicate effectively, work as part of a team and being polite and courteous to clients and the general public is essential.

Job Description: Working closely with the Commercial Director, communication is key to this role. you will learn various aspects of the commercial side of our business including:

Tendering, invoicing, job costing, business development and how we successfully deliver a service to our customers
Whilst supporting the commercial team, you will also work towards developing long term relationships with clients, supply chain and other partner organisations
You will also provide assistance in the overseeing of commercial aspects of contracts within the region
You could be involved with any stage of a project from feasibility, design and construction, through to extension, refurbishment, maintenance and even demolition.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the board of directors, the fleet Manager will be responsible for delivering safe and industry-leading fleet solutions, through operator behaviours and our customer experience.
Our fleet consists on a range of vans and surfacing plant, As the successful candidate, you will be expected to maximise the competitive advantage and reduce reputational risk through ensuring compliance, and act as ambassadors for Trinity Surfacing with customers.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
Deliver an industry-leading standard in Health, Safety, Well-being and Environmental driven through embedded engagement, demonstrated through the ‘Trinity Surfacing’ behaviours and great leadership.
Ensure the Trinity Surfacing supply chain operates efficiently & effectively, by reviewing the Trinity Surfacing transport model.
Deliver our industry-leading transport, engaging hauliers, utilising our supply chain.
Working with key stakeholders to deliver results in safety and cost, using integrated cost reporting, tracking and transformational analytics.
Develop and lead a ‘proud driver’ culture, making them an integral part of Trinity Surfacing and be industry-leading in the utilisation of research and expertise in driver behaviour.
Lead and direct supply chain optimisation and innovation through planning, procurement and logistics collaboration
Focus on improvements in business results and moving forward opportunities, seizing chances to increase productivity, reduce cost, improve profit and revenues
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be able to evidence previous experience working as a Transport or Fleet Manager gained within transport or fleet environment.

Strong, proven people management and coaching skills.
Ability to manage contracts and contractors.
Ability to manage a strategy which is aligned to Trinity Surfacing values
A track record of contract negotiations.
Knowledge of financial reporting and process awareness.
Proven experience in managing road health and safety.
Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
Ability to challenge on a process and behavioural level.
